Nepal, a land steeped in history, is a place where time seems to stand still. Imagine, 2,500 years ago, Buddha himself walked these very streets! And way back in 249 BC, a powerful Indian king named Ashoka planted a pillar here, a silent testament to its significance.
But amidst this ancient legacy, Nepal bursts with youthful energy. It is as if the land itself has been storing up centuries of life force, ready to unleash it through the eyes of its children. Their gazes are bright, curious, and full of stories waiting to be told.

The mountain kids, with their two-hour treks to school, have eyes that sparkle with a wild, untamed spirit. They carry within them the resilience of their ancestors, a pride that shines through every glance.
The little ones peeking out from their humble homes have eyes as wide as the world, filled with a kind of innocent wonder. They watch, they absorb, and their gazes seem to ask, “What's out there?"
At the village school, a swarm of children tugged at my clothes, their eyes pleading for a chance to hold my camera. Their expressions were a whirlwind of anticipation, nervous excitement, and a touch of mischief.
The little girl at the temple had eyes that were pools of mystery. Was she asking for a simple coin, or was she reaching out for a piece of the world's kindness?
On the mountain path, I encountered a group of children returning from school. One of them, a girl, hurried towards me, her voice a frantic whisper, “Blood! Blood!" It was just a small scrape, but her eyes were filled with worry. I cleaned it with water and patched it up with a bandage.
For the next two hours, we walked side by side. Their pace mirrored mine, their eyes fixed on me with a gratitude that transcended language. It was a simple act of kindness, but it seemed to touch their souls.

Even without words, our hearts spoke a language of understanding. The image of their bright eyes, filled with life and wonder, reminded me of the simple joy of childhood. It was like a verse from the song “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star": “Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are." Their eyes, like the stars, held a universe of possibilities.
